授業の概要Course Overview

This is an interactive, student-centered class focusing on of listening and reading skills in English. Grammar and vocabulary are taught as needed to improve these skills. The topic will be presented, goals for the class explained, then selected textbook exercises completed. Receptive skills are strongly emphasized. Reading will often, by not always, be assigned as homework so that students have adequate time to process and understand. In class, pair work will be a fundamental part of student participation. Three or more unexcused absences will likely result in not being able to pass this course. The content of this syllabus is subject to change depending on class and student needs.

Homework will be assigned in class, and is always due before the following class begins. For the online component, the schedule is given during the first class. Homework includes readings from the textbook, exercises from the workbook, and the online component. Late homework is not accepted.

課題の種類・内容Homework, Assignments, etc.

Homework is of two types:

1) Based on the textbook or workbook. It will be assigned in class, and is always due before the following week's class begins. Late homework is only accepted with a verified excused absence.

2) Online e-learning component. A schedule is given during the first class. Assignments must be completed online before the due date.
