実務経験の内容Description of Relevant Practical Experience
I have been a human resources (HR) consultant in Tokyo for about 10 years, providing inhouse training for managers, safety managers, new employees, and other personnel from large and small-medium-sized companies, as well as proposing and training on human resources management. I have also provided employee training for internationalization, such as by introducing debate training.
講師は約10年間、東京において人的資源管理のコンサルタントを行い、大企業から中小企業の経営者や安全管理者、新入社員などの社員研修を提供し、また人的資源管理に関する提案や研修を行ってきた。また社員教育にディベートを導入するなど、国際化に向けての社員教育も行ってきた。
実務経験に関連する授業内容Course Content Related to Practical Experience
My experiences as HR consultant will definitely be relevant to the topics in this class, such as the Japanese style of management, Quality Control, kaizen, etc. In addition, the themes such as leadership, decision-making, strategic negotiation, and so on, are my specialties as a consultant, and the students can learn from my real business experiences.

- This is a course of organizational communication study, and it aims to build students' awareness and understanding of organizational communication. Students will acquire the practical communication skills and knowledge needed for business and management. After successful completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate practical communication skills as well as develop critical thinking with regards to communication problems in business and management contexts.

- Students will gain knowledge about research methods and various theories and concepts that provide a framework for understanding communication in business and organization. In addition, students will also be able to conduct effective leadership and facilitate team work in order to accomplish organizational goals.
授業の概要Course Overview
This course offers a variety of topics in the field of organizational communication. This comprehensive course incorporates the following topics, such as, basic organizational theories, Japanese management, organizational culture, identity, power and resistance, leadership, decision-making, logical thinking, conflicts, strategic negotiation, gender, diversity, LGBTQs, and organizational discourse. Class discussions are encouraged in every class, which often use case studies and communication games. Through these activities and assignments, the broader perspectives are developed for understanding of issues in organizational communication.
この講義は「実務経験のある教員による授業科目」である。本講義の講師は、ビジネスコンサルタントとして約10年間の企業内研修を立案また講師を務めた実務経験を持ち、10年以上の海外生活の経験を活かして授業を展開する。

The instructors will assign various materials such as videos, websites, and magazine and newspaper articles.
課題の種類・内容Homework, Assignments, etc.
Each student will be required to complete all assignments and participate actively in class.
(1) Chapter Presentation: A pair of students is required to read an assigned chapter in the class materials and present it in the class session.
(2) Interview Project: students have to conduct an interview with an appropriate person and investigate some issues of organizational communication.
(3) Final exam: this will be a comprehensive exam during the exam week.

The assignments of (1) and (2) are evaluated as 25% respectively, and the final exam takes 50 % in the total grade.
