This course aims to develop and build students' listening, speaking, writing and reading skills. In each lesson students will learn how to talk about real world topics and situations. All students will be given an opportunity to express opinions on the topics, texts and media content through group and written work. We will focus on improving communicative competence.

授業の概要Method of Instruction

All students will be given an opportunity to express opinions on the topics, texts and media content through group and written work. We will focus on listening and speaking skills, including pronunciation, developing language proficiency. Activities to build academic skills, such as critical thinking and discussion, are integrated with each unit.

事前・事後学習、時間等Study Required outside Class(Preparation, etc.)

Study outside class consists of regular review of each unit, and preview of the next class. To pass this course, students must actively participate in all class practice.Students must bring their textbook, dictionary and writing materials to every class. We will use the online book for this course. Please bring mobile device fully charged to class. If you do not have a smartphone or tablet contact your teacher and one can be provided for you. We will also use a smartphone application to assist your learning and guidance will be given in class for this.

Students who participate and take an active role in class will be given credit towards their final grade.

There is no end of term examination (no ‘Teiki Shiken’) during the official examination period.
