This course mainly aims to improve students' English reading and listening skills, in addition to speaking and writing.
この授業では、英語の「読む・聞く」の2技能を取り入れた授業を英語で展開する。

Focus will be on developing Critical Thinking skills in English using a combination of reading passages and video activities with engaging themes.

授業の概要Method of Instruction

Students will be encouraged to discuss issues from the textbook in groups, think critically and offer support for their opinions.
With this in mind, each of the four Units will be covered in a three week cycle of exercises based on: an Engaging Question, Reading Comprehension and Critical Thinking.
Students must organize and synthesize ideas from reading passages and videos and reflect and synthesize their ideas with some discussions and some limited writing activities.

Attendance/ on time / with textbook = 10%
Class participation = 20%
Weekly Homework (must be finished each week to gain points) = 50%
Final Test = 20%


Students must take the TOEIC IP Test, this will be required during the middle of the semester and used in the class evaluation. Students who have not taken the test will be reduced one level.
