UN Sales Law and German Sales Law have influenced one another throughout the course of
their respective development. The objective of this course is to teach UN Sales Law by drawing
on the similarities and differences between the two regimes, thereby providing a unique
international perspective on sales law. To this aim, students will study the relevant statutory
provisions from both the CISG and the German Civil Code (BGB), as well as analyse relevant
case law.

Feedback will be provided on an ongoing basis through interaction in class. Formal feedback will
be provided on the exam which students will be required to take at the end of the course.

・ The exam will consist of four questions, partly problem questions and partly essay questions.
・Students will be allowed to use the statutory text of both the CISG and the BGB during the exam.
