授業の概要Method of Instruction

Classes will be taught in person. Students will work to effectively communicate in English on a variety of topics while improving their listening skills, reading skills, and vocabulary.

事前・事後学習、時間等Study Required outside Class(Preparation, etc.)

Two classes’ worth of independent study is required for each session. Students are required to do the following tasks for each session:
・Prior to each session, preview the vocabulary, topic, and content of the forthcoming textbook unit, as well as the language skills and tasks required (30% of the study time required outside of class).
・After each session, review the vocabulary, content, and tasks from the session and work on follow-up tasks using iQ Online Practice and other online platforms (70% of the study time required outside of class).

iQ Online Practice

課題の種類・内容Homework, Assignments, etc.

Homework consists of regular review activities using iQ Online Practice, which include automatically graded listening, reading, and writing activities and video clips, as well as preparation for and practice of spoken assignments.

課題に対するフィードバックの方法Feedback Method

Instructors will observe and comment on students’ in-class activities and provide feedback on assignments using Moodle and other platforms. Feedback will also be provided online by iQ Online Practice.

Evaluation will be carried out using the following methods:
Diploma Policy Target Category B: in-class reading, listening, and vocabulary quizzes (50%); completion of iQ online assignments (25%); final examination (25%).
