授業の概要Course Overview

You will learn about global environmental issues through a text book, the latest news and video materials in English. The class will be taught through a variety of learning activities including discussion, group work, and presentations. Throughout the course, you will develop your research skills, critical thinking, communication skills, and learn to express your own ideas on environmental issues.

Classes are based on prior reading assignments and the viewing of video materials. For the mid-term presentation, you need to collaborate with your peers to prepare for a presentation. You also are expected to conduct your own research for the final report.

・Group presentation: 15% (You will choose one of the themes covered in the first half of the course and give a group presentation on your solution)
・Individual presentation:15% (You will choose one of the themes covered in the course and give a presentation on your solution; Waste and Recycling, Endangered Species, Global Warming, Energy, Marine Pollution, Animal Rights etc)
・ Final report: 30 % (You will choose one of the themes covered in the second half of the course and write a final report by using the key concepts in the environmental humanities)
・ Worksheets: 15%

TOEIC-IPテストで510点以上、もしくはそれに相当する語学力を有することが望ましい。
