授業の到達目標Objectives to be Attained

授業の概要Method of Instruction

In class, students will write paragraphs and essays, and produce a variety of other English texts including summaries and presentation materials. As well as intensive writing training, class activities will focus on critical awareness of the importance of choosing appropriate expressions, registers, and formats to write effective compositions for differing situations, purposes, topics, and readers. Students will also work on the techniques of editing, both their own work and that of others, and the use of proofreading tools to improve their own written work.

事前・事後学習、時間等Study Required outside Class(Preparation, etc.)

Two classes’ worth of independent study is required for each session. Students are required to do the following tasks for each session:
・Prior to each session, preview the vocabulary, topic, and content of the forthcoming session, as well as the language skills and tasks required (30% of the study time required outside of class).
・After each session, complete writing and research activities and prepare presentations (70% of the study time required outside of class).
