授業の概要Method of Instruction

英文の理解に必要な文法や語彙にかんする基本的な知識の確認をしながら、語 彙力の増強を目指し、英語力全体の向上を目指す。特に英文読解の基礎力を身につけるため、授業では英文を文法的な解釈に基づいて意味を正確に取りながら、読み取り、聞き取りが行うことができるように指導する。また、基本的な英語構文をつかった英作文と会話の練習を行う。学生は各週で導入される英語構文の学習とスキルトレーニングを授業中に集中して行い、授業外に割り当てられた課題を完成させる。 / This course will give students the four basic skills they need for their English learning. To improve students’ English reading proficiency, students will review basic syntax and grammar rules. Students’ English reading and listening skills will be guided through understanding of appropriate grammar usage and structures. In class sessions, students will practice English writing and conversation skills using basic sentence structures.

事前・事後学習、時間等Study Required outside Class(Preparation, etc.)

Two classes’ worth of independent study is required for each session. Students are required to do the following tasks for each session:
・Prior to each session, read allocated sections of the textbook and preview the vocabulary and grammar rules to be studied (40% of the study time required outside of class).
・After each session, review textbook content, vocabulary, and grammar rules studied in class and complete reading and writing assignments (60% of the study time required outside of class).
