授業の到達目標Objectives to be Attained

この授業では学生達の英語でのリーディングスキルを伸ばすことを目指す。
目標は英単語を増やすこと、読み取り速度や滑らかさを会得することである。

授業の概要Method of Instruction

ほぼ全ての授業は滑らかさ、語彙力、理解力を上達させるための多くのリーディングエクセサイズが含まれたテキストが中心となる。また、学生達各々が選んだグレイディドリーダーズの読み物に関する語彙力と理解力を示すための英語でのレポート作成も含まれる。

事前・事後学習、時間等Study Required outside Class(Preparation, etc.)

Keeping up the pace with reading a minimum of 10 graded readers as well as writing reports on each in each student’s personal notebook.

  Readings: Male Beauty, Faces. Skills: Identifying, Previewing, Predicting

  Readings: Travel Mistakes, Travel Companion. Skills: Summarizing, and Skimming

• 4回目Session 4

  Readings: Art of Lying, Lying Signs. Skills: Recognizing purpose, and Scanning

• 5回目Session 5

  Readings: April Fool, Net Hoaxes. Skills: Fact vs opinion, and Ignore unknown words

• 6回目Session 6

  Readings: Lost at Sea, Surfer. Skills: Context meaning, and Preview and predict

• 7回目Session 7

  Readings: Learning—Failure/Memory. Skills: Inferences, and Signal words

  Extended intensive reading with a check of understanding in notebook
